With Autumn officially in full swing and many of us turning attentions to the interiors of our homes there’s no better time to address those nagging needs to reinvigorate the house. Which is all the more reason why we’re incredibly excited to unveil our newest indoor dining collection. The Valencia range is elegant solid oak furniture that will slide into many dining rooms or kitchens with ultimate ease. A modern range ready for the practicalities of busy homebound life, but with absolutely no compromise on design led style. So, today we’re going to take a quick look through this fantastic new collection and the benefits, highlights and indulge in some outright voyeurism – we just wish we could own every piece, *sigh.
The Valencia Solid Oak Dining Table – Truly Beautiful Tables
The very crux of this collection is the dining table. But not just any dining table, solid oak surfaces have been carefully chosen to construct a chunky dining table of elegance and endurance. A grained oak is treated two ways to achieve, what we think, are undeniably gorgeous finishes. Firstly, there’s the natural oak shade to consider; a rich light and breezy wood hue synonymous with oak, it’s very much a classic tone. This choice boasts a lovely white pigmented lacquer, the grain notably benefits from this where at close inspection you’ll see the grains are milky. The second choice is the moody dark oak, a smokey muted brown shade and a fantastic alternative to the more traditional natural colour. This broody dark brown is also achieved by a lacquering technique, which gives the surface not only a lovely matte glean but protects the underlying raw wood from damages of daily use. Rectangle or Round
The choices for this solid oak dining table aren’t just between shades either, there’s both rectangle and round shapes to ponder over. Both offer the same chunky dining table surface with a stylised oblique edge, however the rectangle does come in two size variants – a 1.7 metre version capable of seating 6 and a 2.4 metre version capable of seating 8 people. But if it’s a compact versatile shape you’re looking for a round table may suit your space, slotting in nicely to non traditional layouts or homes with plenty of furnishings already, this seats 6.
Take a Seat and We’ll Explain the Pre-Determined Dining Sets
We’re well aware that when looking to bring in new furniture to best suit a modern dining room or kitchen, often dining chairs will also need to be sought too. Which is why we’ve created pre-determined dining sets, there’s options with the delightfully stylish Gaudi chair in both light grey or dark grey, or the suave faux leather black Dali chair. Each of these sets has a built in 5% discount to enjoy, too. The 1.7 metre rectangle comes complete with 4 chairs (as touched on above it can readily seat 6 if needed). Whilst the 2.4 metre table comes with 6 seats (and there’s certainly room to seat 8 if needed).
We picked these chairs after a lengthy process of pairing to this solid oak furniture, we feel they best reflect the contemporary style. Both styles come with a useful swivel motion and both benefit from ample padding. Powder coated metal legs will provide plenty of cushioning and the Gaudi offers a post modern feeling cupped design. As with the Gaudi the faux leather Dali benefits from powder coated black metallic legs, however in the Dali’s case the fabulously overt splay of these legs create a wonderful looking spectacle alongside any Valencia solid oak dining table.
Splayed Metallic Bases
Which brings us on to the final piece of the puzzle – the handsome table legs. The legs have undergone the same powder coating as the chairs in order to maintain strength and a fine matte texture. Most notably they are characteristically splayed in style – something we really think underlines the modern aesthetic of a gorgeous Valencia chunky dining table. However with the rectangle tables the legs offer flexibility too; they can be easily attached at three places on the table’s underneath, meaning they can move further towards the centre for more leg room at the ends, or easily adjusted to best suit a preferred visual style.
Solid Oak Dining Table Maintenance
The really great news with the Valencia solid oak furniture range is that because it comes pre lacquered it really doesn’t require lots and lots of upkeep – unlike some more raw versions of solid oak. However, there are certainly things that can still be done to best maintain these tables, take a read of our solid oak care tips blog article, but be mindful that some of these tips apply to untreated wood only. As for the metallic bases, as these are powder coated these will be sturdy for years to come and go the distance, just wipe clean of cobwebs and household grime.
